There’s a whole lot of CAN-DO in this little box – it’s a standalone USB DAC, and it’s a USB:SPDIF converter.

Why would you need both!? I hear you asking …

Here’s how I’d use it: On my desktop, I’d use the standalone DAC to feed my headphone amp and just delight in music while I engage in my computerly duties (as I am right now, listening to Beck: Odelay). Then I’d send a nice long digital coaxial to a DAC in my Big Rig. I’d control the music via my favorite i-Device, used as a WiFi remote for my music-server computer.
